Electric dryers usually ship without a power cord, dryers without vent duct, and some washers without fill hoses. Manufacturers say to use new hoses, not old ones. Our team can add a cord, hoses, venting or a connection package to your estimate.

Many front-load pairs can, using the stacking kit made for your models, and our team can supply the kit. The dryer always goes on top. Send both model numbers with your request.

Rigid or semi-rigid metal. Safety regulators recommend replacing plastic or foil accordion duct, which traps lint and crushes easily, and California's Mechanical Code requires metal duct with a smooth interior.

California's Mechanical Code generally limits it to 14 feet with two 90-degree bends, minus 2 feet for each extra bend, unless the dryer's instructions allow longer and the building department approves. The flexible connector behind the dryer can be at most 6 feet and can't be hidden in a wall. Our team checks your route.

Tell our team whether the dryer is gas or electric. California's plumbing code calls for an accessible gas shutoff valve within 6 feet of the dryer, and manufacturers say to use a new flexible connector, not the old one. Our team checks the existing valve and gas line when reviewing your project.

Check both models' installation guides. For example, one washer guide calls for hot and cold faucets within 42 inches of the washer, and one dryer guide for a grounded outlet within 2 feet; you'll also need a drain standpipe and a level floor. Clear the path into the laundry area.

Manufacturers estimate one to three hours for a washer. Stacking, new vent duct or a gas connection add time.
