A few common questions.

What flush and flow limits apply in California?

New toilets may use at most 1.28 gallons per flush. Bathroom faucets are capped at 1.2 gallons per minute and kitchen faucets at 1.8.

My home was built before 1994. Do old fixtures have to be replaced?

California law requires noncompliant fixtures in those homes (toilets over 1.6 gallons per flush, faucets over 2.2 gallons per minute) to be replaced, including during permitted alterations, and sellers must disclose them.

How do I find my toilet's rough-in size?

Measure from the finished wall, not the baseboard, to the bolts holding the toilet to the floor. Twelve inches is most common; 10- and 14-inch rough-ins exist too. Buy a toilet that matches.

Should the shutoff valve and supply line be replaced?

Often, when they're old or stiff. Manufacturers call for a working stop valve and a new flexible supply connector. Our team can add a new angle stop or supply line to your estimate.

Will a new faucet fit my sink?

Match the number of holes, their center-to-center spacing and the counter thickness. Many single-hole faucets include a deck plate to cover a 3-hole sink; widespread faucets fit three holes 6 to 16 inches apart.

Does a bidet seat need an outlet?

Electric bidet seats need a grounded, GFCI-protected outlet within reach of the cord, and connect to the toilet's cold water supply. Adding an outlet is electrical work for a licensed electrician.

Undermount or drop-in sink?

Drop-in sinks rest on the counter and are the simplest to install. Undermount sinks attach beneath stone, quartz or solid-surface counters for a seamless edge and easier cleanup.
