A few common questions.

Does a smart thermostat need a C-wire?

Often. Most smart thermostats draw power through a C-wire (common wire). Some systems need one or a power adapter kit; the thermostat's app usually checks during setup.

Will a smart thermostat work with my system?

Most work with standard 24-volt forced-air systems. High-voltage baseboard heaters and millivolt systems generally aren't compatible. Thermostat makers offer online compatibility checkers.

Can a video doorbell use my existing doorbell wiring?

Usually, if the doorbell transformer supplies enough power for the model. Replacing a transformer is electrical work for a licensed electrician; battery doorbells need no wiring at all.

Will a smart lock fit my door?

Measure before you buy: door thickness (commonly 1⅜ to 1¾ inches), backset (2⅜ or 2¾ inches) and the bore holes. Some doors can't take a smart deadbolt without changes.

What Wi-Fi do smart devices need?

A steady signal where each device sits and enough upload speed, especially for video. Several devices add up, and some only connect to a 2.4 GHz network.

Do smart light switches need a neutral wire?

Many do, and replacing a wall switch is electrical work for a licensed electrician. Ask our team which devices we can install.

Do I need a smart home hub?

It depends on the device and the platform you use. Thread devices generally need a Thread border router, which some smart speakers, displays and hubs include. Matter devices on Wi-Fi don't need one, though some platforms still require their own hub to add or control them. Many Wi-Fi devices connect directly through their app.

Do you set up the apps?

Yes. Our team can set up each device's app and connect it to your Wi-Fi. You sign in to your own accounts, so keep your Wi-Fi password and logins handy.

How do I get a quote?

Send a request with your devices and where they go. Our team reviews it and contacts you with a quote. Smart home quotes are not emailed automatically.

Do you sell the devices?

Send the devices you have or plan to buy. Discuss the setup with our team before purchasing.
